Peter van Gent 

Peter has 30+ years in the music industry specialising in live music and sound production. Formerly a drummer in his earlier days Peter now prefers to work in production for local, national and international musicians in all venue scenarios. His previous work illustrates his wealth of knowledge for music and sound in live performance and studio environments.

Having received the Fullers Entertainment award for services in the Music Industry 2014 Peter continues to work alongside some of New Zealand's greatest musicians bringing a great sound experience for the audience.

Peter looks forward to work with emerging artists and sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of artist.

Loren van Gent 

Loren has been working in the music industry for 20+ years with a focus on arts, business and event management. She has previously worked on projects in the Otara, Northcote and North Shore community while also working on live music productions, festivals and corporate events.

Since 2005 she has worked on events in partnership with her husband Peter while also doing a few secondments at The University of Auckland - School of Music and National Institute of Creative Arts Industries (NICAI) as Public Programmes Manager and Marketing Advisor before moving to Taupo to work at Audio Visual People as General Manager from 2015 - 2018.

Loren is now based in her hometown Whangarei with her Pitman whanau. Loren aims to establish key events that assist in sustaining careers in the arts.

Laughton Kora

Laughton, with his incredible voice and immense talent has been at the forefront of New Zealand music for over the past decade.

Laughton has been playing music since the age of 6 appearing on stage as part of his father's band until 17 years old when he won Smoke Free Rock Quest. His band Aunty Beatrice toured New Zealand and released a single.

 

He moved to Queenstown and formed Soul Charge with members KP (Sunshine Sound System) and P Digsss (Shapeshifter). In 2001 he headed

to Wellington and formed KORA (2003-2012) with his brothers.

 

Laughton has performed at numerous events nationally and internationally including performances at The Big Day Out, Vodafone Music Awards, WOMAD UK, WOMAD Aust. & WOMAD NZ. Crazy P, Cabaret Voltaire, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Shapeshifter & Shihad. He has toured Australia consistentlyand performed at Koko’s in London, UK, Ireland & Scotland with Crazy P & Norman Jay. Other overseas tours include Japan, performances in Minakami and Habuka in early February and Mosaic Festival in Singapore. In the USA, he performed at a full West Coast Tour including Sierra Nevada Music Festival.

 

Laughton has a wide ranging knowledge of musical genres including heavy metal, R&B, electronic funk and also enjoys acting, musical theatre while continuing to perform at live gigs which in 2021 saw him performing with the APO & Louis Baker, The NZ String Quartet, Four Strings & A Soprano National NZ Tour and guest performances at a various Summer Music Festivals.

 

Laughton's recent work has evolved into music workshops which has gained momentum since his guest artist appearance on Popstars 2021 where he provided practical and relevant tips for stage craft performance.
